Control

Autonomy levels

Your autonomy level sets how much Lyric does on its own for you: Observe, Assist or Delegate. You choose your operating mode in Settings › Autonomy, and each task, goal or workflow has a handling choice at one of these levels.

The three levels

LevelWhat Lyric doesAction minutes per minute of work
ObserveInvestigates and reports. Lyric reads and analyzes the applications and information you connect and records what it finds, but does not act in your applications0.25
AssistPerforms routine work and asks for your approval before consequential actions0.65
DelegatePursues goals and performs the work on its own, without asking for approval1.00

The action boundaries you set and, in an organization, its policies apply at every level. See Action boundaries.

Levels on each plan

Lyric ProObserve and Assist
Lyric Max 1x and 2xObserve, Assist and Delegate
Lyric TeamsObserve, Assist and Delegate
Lyric EnterpriseObserve, Assist and Delegate

In an organization, administrators choose which levels are available and the highest level each account type may choose. See Automation.

Your operating mode

In Settings › Autonomy, choose the operating mode Lyric works at for you, from the levels open to you. Where only one level is open, it is shown with nothing to choose. A project can set its own operating mode, which may be stricter than yours but never looser. See Project settings.

A task's handling choice

Each task, goal and workflow has a handling choice, and each choice corresponds to a level:

ChoiceWhat Lyric doesAutonomy levelAction minutes per minute of work
AutonomouslyPerforms the work on its own, without asking for approvalDelegate1.00
Ask firstPrepares the work and asks for your approval before consequential actionsAssist0.65
ManualInvestigates and reports, while you take every action yourselfObserve0.25

Only the choices at levels open to you are offered. A task, goal or workflow keeps its choice if your plan changes, and can be changed only to a choice open to you.

Advanced settings

On Lyric Max, Lyric Teams and Lyric Enterprise, Settings › Autonomy also holds Advanced settings, each on or off:

  • Ask me when uncertain.
  • Allow Lyric to adapt its plan.
  • Allow Lyric to schedule work autonomously.
  • Allow Lyric to learn from supervised actions.

On Lyric Free and Lyric Pro, action boundaries and Advanced settings are shown with the option to upgrade.
