Connectors

Connectors overview

Connectors link Lyric to the services and devices you use. Every connector runs on the Model Context Protocol (MCP): each service's connector is an MCP server, and Lyric works with the service through it. You connect them on the Connectors page.

Connectors and MCP

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard for connecting services to AI systems. A service publishes an MCP server that describes what it can do, and Lyric uses those capabilities on your behalf once you connect it. Lyric works only through the connectors you connect, and only within your autonomy level, action boundaries and, in an organization, its policies.

Narrow the list by category, and sort it by name or with connected connectors first. Each connector shows its name, what it does, its category and whether it is connected. Add connector opens Discover or Devices.

Discover

Discover lists the MCP servers in the catalog, drawn from the official MCP Registry and refreshed every day. Search it by name, browse it by category, and show only connectors from verified publishers. On Lyric Free, you connect from a curated set. See Lyric Free connectors.

Connecting a connector

  1. On the Connectors page, choose a connector.
  2. Select Connect.
  3. Sign in to the service and grant access. You return to Connectors once the sign-in is complete.

A connector's details

Choosing a connector opens its details beside the list, with Connect while it is not connected.

SectionWhat it shows
OverviewWho provides it, its connection type, who it is available to, and Lyric's recent activity with it
PermissionsWho may use it and how it connects. For administrators and a Lyric Teams account holder
UsageWhat Lyric has indexed from it, when it last synced, and what Lyric uses it for

A connected connector's options include Reauthenticate and Disconnect. Disconnecting ends Lyric's access to the service.

Connectors in a chat

Under the message bar, Connectors chooses which of your connectors Lyric uses in that chat. See Conversation.

In an organization

On Lyric Enterprise, administrators make connectors available in Settings › Integrations: to all users or to the teams and account types they choose, connected once by an administrator for everyone or individually by each user. On Lyric Teams, the account holder approves the connectors the team may use, unless the team allows every connector. See Integrations.

Devices

The Devices tab lists your devices and the ways to add one. On Lyric Enterprise, administrators manage the device types Lyric runs on and the company devices it is deployed to.
