Working with Lyric
Conversation
Chat is where you talk with Lyric: ask questions, think things through and ask for work. Conversation itself never consumes your allowance.
Starting a chat
Select New chat in the menu, then write to Lyric in the message bar. Lyric answers in the chat. When you ask for work, such as a task, Lyric creates it and you follow it on its own page.
Your chats
The menu lists your most recent chats under New chat. View all opens your chat history, which is also in Settings › Data. Each chat's options are:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Share | Sends the chat's text through your device's share sheet, or copies it where there is none |
| Archive | Takes the chat out of the list |
| Delete | Deletes the chat |
Search, from the menu or with its keyboard shortcut, finds chats along with everything else in LyricOS.
Under the message bar
- Add files attaches files to the message you are writing.
- Choose project puts a new chat in a project before its first message. The chat is then one of the project's conversations. Lyric Pro and above. See Projects.
- Connectors chooses which of your connectors Lyric uses in the chat. See Connectors overview.
Conversation and usage
A conversation does not consume action minutes, however long it continues. Work Lyric performs from it, such as generating a document, writing code, researching or performing a task, consumes action minutes while it is in progress and is reported under its own category. See Action minutes.
