Organizations

An organization is the account a team or company uses on Lyric Teams or Lyric Enterprise. It holds the organization's people, seats, settings and work context, and its administrators decide how Lyric works for everyone in it.

Getting started

To bring Lyric to your organization, email [email protected] with what you are looking to accomplish: the work you want Lyric to take on, the teams involved and how many people will use it. We reply to set up your organization on Lyric Teams or Lyric Enterprise. Its account holder and administrators then invite its people. See Invite people.

What administrators control

  • Users and seats: who belongs to the organization, their account type and the seat each holds.
  • Teams: groups of people within the organization, each with its own access and approvers.
  • Authentication: two-factor authentication and single sign-on.
  • Integrations: the connectors the organization uses and who may use them.
  • Policies: the organization's own rules, applied on top of Lyric's Constitution.
  • Automation: the autonomy levels available, the highest level each account type may choose, and action boundaries with their approvers.
  • Working hours: when Lyric starts new work for the organization's people.
  • Workflows, webhooks and admin keys: how the organization automates work and connects its own systems.
  • Billing: the plan, seats, usage credits and spend limits.

These settings are found in Settings › Organization (Settings › Team on Lyric Teams). Employees do not see them.

Work context and personal context

Lyric keeps what it learns from a person's work for the organization separate from what it learns about the person's own life. Work context belongs to the organization. Personal context belongs to the person. When a person leaves the organization, work context remains with the organization and personal context remains with the person. See When someone leaves.

What employees control

Each employee sets their own preferences within the limits the organization sets. For example, an employee chooses their own autonomy level in Settings › Autonomy from the levels their account type allows, and can set action boundaries that are stricter than the organization's, where the organization permits it.
