Approvals

When an action needs your approval, Lyric stops at that step and sends you a request. Lyric continues only once you approve.

When Lyric asks

  • The work's handling choice is Ask first (Assist), and the action is consequential.
  • An action boundary you set, or a project's, is Ask first for the area the action is in.
  • In an organization, its boundaries or its policies require approval for the action. The request goes to the approver set for that area.

Work handled Autonomously (Delegate) asks only where one of these access controls requires it. See Action boundaries.

Where requests appear

  • On Home, under Approvals.
  • On the Tasks page, in Awaiting your input.
  • On the Activity page, under Awaiting approval.
  • As a notification, when Lyric asks.

What a request shows

A request opens as Approval required, with the action Lyric asks to take, the task, when it was requested, when it is due and who requested it. Beside it are the summary, the expected outcome, the context, the task's progress (each step completed, with its result) and the files the request rests on.

Approving, denying or other instructions

DecisionWhat happens
ApproveLyric continues with the step it was waiting on
DenyThe task is paused at that step
OtherYou give different instructions or guidance, and Lyric plans the task again from them

You can add comments for Lyric with any decision, then confirm it.

Approvals and usage

Time spent awaiting your approval does not consume action minutes, and a task awaiting approval does not occupy a concurrent task place. A task that resumes after approval waits for a place if your limit has been reached.
