Usage
Usage and limits
LyricOS measures the work Lyric performs on your behalf and the storage you use. This page explains what is measured, what is not, when allowances renew and where you can review your usage.
What LyricOS measures
LyricOS measures five types of usage for each seat. Two renew every billing period, two are storage levels that reflect what you hold at present, and one limits how much work runs at the same time.
| Meter | Definition | Unit | Renewal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Action minutes | Time Lyric spends performing work on your behalf, at the rate of the autonomy level of the work | Minutes | Every billing period; on Lyric Free, over any 24 hours |
| Compute | Processor time used by the programs Lyric runs on your behalf | Core hours | Every billing period |
| Concurrent tasks | The number of your tasks Lyric performs at the same time | Tasks | Applies at all times |
| Project storage | Files you upload to projects | MB and GB | Does not renew |
| Core compute storage | Files Lyric creates in your workspace while performing work on your behalf | MB and GB | Does not renew |
What does not consume usage
- Conversation. When a conversation results in work, such as generating a document, writing code, researching, a task, a goal or a workflow, that work consumes action minutes while it is in progress.
- Viewing pages, changing settings, and connecting or disconnecting applications.
- Time before Lyric begins work, and time during which Lyric awaits your approval.
- Lyric's daily self-reflection, and the work Lyric performs for its own learning and maintenance.
- The information Lyric retains about you, which does not count toward storage.
Billing periods and renewal
Action minutes and compute renew on your billing date each month. On annual plans they renew monthly on the same day of each month. On Lyric Free, compute renews on the day of the month the account was created, and action minutes are counted over any 24 hours. In Lyric Teams and Lyric Enterprise, every seat renews on the organization's billing date. Unused action minutes and compute do not carry over to the next billing period.
Storage allowances do not renew. They are the most a seat may hold at any time, and capacity becomes available again when files are deleted.
Viewing your usage
- The usage panel, a tab at the bottom of every page, shows this period's action minutes by category, the work in progress, compute, storage and what Lyric retains about you. See The usage panel.
- Settings › Usage shows each allowance, its renewal date, your usage credits and spend limits, and the workspace view of your core compute storage. A notice appears when an allowance has been used, or when, at the current pace, it will be used before it renews.
- Administrators of a Lyric Teams or Lyric Enterprise organization, and its account holder, can view the usage of every seat.

When you reach a limit
Work already in progress always runs to completion. If you hold purchased action minutes or usage credits, new work continues and draws on them, up to any monthly spend limit you set. Without credits, new work begins when the allowance renews. See When you reach a limit and Additional usage and credits.
