Billing
Spend limits
A spend limit caps how much of your usage credits can be spent in a billing period. Spend limits are optional, and because credits are prepaid, spending never exceeds your balance whether or not a limit is set.
What a spend limit does
- It sets the most, in US dollars, that usage beyond your allowances may cost in a billing period.
- It renews with your billing period.
- You choose whether reaching the limit stops usage, or only sends alerts.
- Alerts can be sent by email when spending reaches 75%, 90% and 100% of the limit.
Individual plans
On Lyric Free, Lyric Pro and Lyric Max, you can set one monthly spend limit for your account on Settings › Usage.
Organizations
Organizations set spend limits as budgets: on Lyric Teams, the account holder; on Lyric Enterprise, the account holder and administrators. A budget can apply to:
- the whole organization, or selected people;
- all usage, or one type of usage: action minutes, compute or storage.
Each budget has its own amount, its own choice of stopping usage or sending alerts only, and its own alert recipients.
When a limit is reached
If the limit is set to stop usage, LyricOS treats the affected allowance as used until the next billing period or until the limit is raised: work in progress runs to completion, and no new work that would draw on credits begins. If the limit is set to send alerts only, usage continues for as long as credits remain.
Creating and changing a limit
Spend limits are managed on Settings › Usage. A new or changed limit takes effect immediately.
