Set up
Teams within an organization
Teams group the people in an organization, such as Security Operations, IT or Finance, so that access and approvals can be set for each group. Teams are available on Lyric Teams and Lyric Enterprise.
Teams within an organization are separate from the Lyric Teams plan. A Lyric Teams organization can contain several teams.
Creating a team
The account holder and administrators create teams in Settings › Organization (Settings › Team on Lyric Teams) › Users. Each team has a name, at least one team administrator and its members. The team administrator need not be the person who created the team, and a person can belong to several teams.
Team roles
| Team role | What the role can do |
|---|---|
| Team administrator | Manages the team's members and its access controls: the devices, connectors and projects the team may use |
| Team lead | Sees the team's work and usage, and approves its members' actions where approval is required |
| Team member | Belongs to the team and receives the team's access |
Team roles apply only within the team. A person's account type, administrator or employee, is set separately for the whole organization.
What a team controls
- Which devices, connectors and projects the team's members may use. On Lyric Enterprise, this includes company devices.
- Who approves the team's actions where an action boundary requires approval.
- Project access: people added to a team receive access to the team's projects automatically.
Settings that apply to the whole organization, such as autonomy, policies and authentication, remain in Settings › Organization (Settings › Team on Lyric Teams). A team's own controls never repeat them.
Teams and usage
Allowances belong to each seat, not to the team. Users shows each team's total usage beneath its members, and team leads can view their team's usage.
Changing and removing teams
The account holder and administrators can rename a team, change its members' team roles or remove the team. Removing a team does not remove its people from the organization.
